San Joaquin County Probation Officers, in collaboration with partner agencies from the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office and the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Investigators Office, recently executed a highly successful joint operation targeting individuals with active bench warrants in the city of Stockton. The primary objective of this mission was to effect necessary arrests and conduct compliance searches on subjects who are on probation or community supervision for gun-related, drug-related, and other criminal offenses.
Our officers contacted a client at his residence, where his girlfriend and minor children were also present. This individual was on probation for stalking and domestic violence-related offenses. He had an active warrant for his arrest and was bound by a Criminal Protective Order (CPO) that prohibited him from being in close proximity to the victim, his girlfriend. Consequently, he was arrested for his bench warrant and for violating the criminal protective order.
Our officers proceeded to the next residence, where they encountered two juveniles and one adult. One of the juveniles was on active probation for a firearm charge and assault with a deadly weapon charge. A records check revealed that the adult had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. Our officers, accompanied by K9 Justice, conducted a probation search of the premises, leading to the discovery of multiple loaded firearms. In total, five firearms, two large bags of marijuana, two scales, and a substantial amount of cash were seized. Given the significant evidence found at the scene, all three individuals were arrested on numerous new charges.
Our officers then contacted another client at his residence, where a probation search was conducted. Although no contraband was found in the client’s possession, he was arrested for his two outstanding bench warrants.
Our officers made contact with the family members of a client who was on active probation. Although the client was not present at the time, our officers conducted a probation search. Fortunately, no contraband was found, and the family reported that the client was making positive progress.
This operation exemplifies the exceptional collaboration and coordination among various law enforcement agencies, resulting in the successful apprehension of multiple individuals and the disruption of criminal activities. The diligent efforts of our officers and the cooperation between different agencies have proven to be instrumental in maintaining public safety and upholding the law.
