Deputy Chief Probation Officer (DCPO) Michelle Cantlin began working for the San Joaquin County Probation Department in March 1997. She began her career as a part-time Detention Officer and in 1999, she promoted to Deputy Probation Officer.
During the course of her career, she has been assigned to various units throughout the department including Juvenile Supervision, Adult Domestic Violence, and AB 109 Assessments. DCPO Cantlin served on the Youth Accountability Board for department’s at-risk youth program, the San Joaquin County Domestic Violence Task Force, and instructed the Taser curriculum for the department. Additionally, she has been a member of the Peer Support Team since its inception in 2011.
DCPO Cantlin is committed to increasing public safety, supporting victims, and reducing recidivism through client accountability and support; thereby making our community safer and stronger.
