Deputy Chief Probation Officer (DCPO) Paul Arong has been with the San Joaquin County Probation Department for 28 years.
DCPO Arong started his career with the San Joaquin County Probation Department in 1995, when he accepted a position at Juvenile Hall as a Group Counselor Assistant. In 1997, he became a Deputy Probation Officer and held numerous assignments within the Juvenile and Adult Divisions. He joined the management team in 2016 when he promoted to Assistant Deputy Chief Probation Officer over the Adult Division. In 2019, he was promoted to his current position.
DCPO Arong was selected for the Don I. Asher Probation Officer of the Year award in 2009. He also received the Sacramento Region Employee of the Year award in 2016 and 2019 through the Chief Probation Officers of California for his work in evidence based programming and pretrial.
DCPO Arong has a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology from the California State University, Fresno, with an emphasis in Corrections.
