Assistant Deputy Chief Probation Officer (ADCPO) Ryan Grayson began his career with the San Joaquin County Probation Department in 2012 as a part-time Juvenile Detention Officer Assistant (JDOA). During that time, he received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from California State University, Sacramento. In 2013, he became a full-time JDOA; in 2014, he became a Deputy Probation Officer. He was promoted to ADCPO in 2024.
ADCPO Grayson has held numerous assignments in various divisions throughout the department, including Juvenile Detention, Juvenile, Adult, and High-Risk AB 109. He has served as a Taser Instructor and an EPICS Train the Trainer. In 2016, he worked on the Google Innovation Project. ADCPO Grayson received the 2019 Sacramento Region Employee of the Year award from the Chief Probation Officers of California. ADCPO Grayson is committed to bringing the department into the future through innovation. He has a passion for technology and is proficient in software and hardware. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their two boys.
